* Please see the last post entitled ‘Signing Off…’ for my current status *
I’m Roy MacLean (pronounced “MacLANE”) an IT professional, specializing – amongst other things – in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
I’m using this blog for ideas, experiments, suggested projects, bits of code – as well as other stuff related to PC applications, programming, and wider topics.
I’m a long-time Object-Oriented modeler/developer (yea, even unto the years Before Java and UML), and one of my interests is how OO ideas work within Excel/VBA.
I have also become interested in the XML-related technologies, and how they can be used to enhance the capabilities of Office applications. In particular, I’m a keen proponent of the DITA framework for producing modular technical and user documentation. I see this as something that can be beneficial much more widely than just in large-scale publishing.
I provide training and consultancy in VBA for Excel, Access, etc. I also provide consultancy, training and authoring in DITA. Please visit my main Roy MacLean IT website, or contact me directly using the form below. I live near Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK.
